Position Overview

This is a diverse function that includes Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) coordination and support. Coordinates all programs, policies, and procedures which ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety(EH&S) requirements. Develop and coordinate health and safety programs as well as employee training activities to prevent/minimize the incidence of on-the-job accidents and promote overall health and safety. Ensure environmental compliance by facilitating all reporting requirements, managing hazardous waste program and emergency response plans. Coordinate all third party activities including monitoring/sampling, risk assessments, EH&S consultants, and safety data sheet program.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • EH&S inspections for Fire Extinguishers, Eye Wash Stations, Pest Control, Storm Water Prevention, Vault Inspections, and Master Sanitation
  • Safety equipment restocking and ordering for safety glasses and spill kits replacements
  • Maintaining PM and safety record keeping on “QA510, Maintenance Record Master” document and hard copy binders of all facility maintenance records
  • Conduct Fork Lift Training and Certification
  • Coordinate all Contractor Safety Orientation Training and record keeping
  • Record Retention of all daily Contractor Work
  • Permits and permit record keeping
  • Periodic safety and process audits including PPE, Production Cleaning Calendar, safety equipment, hose audits, filter vessels, safety signage, and building infrastructure
  • Safety coordination for Capex projects at project kick-off meetings
  • Help assist and coordinate company events
  • Coordination of fire protection contactors and inspections.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience leading Safety teams
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with multiple departments
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
    Proven attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Must be highly organized
  • Must have a great attitude and be a team player
  • Flexibility to cover off shift contractor supervision on an occasional basis
  • Physical requirements are consistent with the function, has to be able to perform his/her job lifting, bending, twisting, and working at floor level
  • Must be able to use some tools and equipment
  • H.S. Degree or equivalent required / Associates Degree preferred
  • OSHA 30 certification and/or willingness to complete within 1 year of start date.
