Position Overview

Greenfield is the leading specialty alcohols producer in Canada, with a focus on corn-based bulk industrial alcohol, packaged alcohol and fuel ethanol, as well as associated agricultural co-products

Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, the Company owns and operates four state of the art manufacturing plants in Canada – all strategically located close to both corn supply and end-user markets. Additionally, the Company owns and operates three alcohol packaging plants, one in Canada and two in the US. The Company has a focused strategy to successfully and profitably operate its production facilities. In doing so, Greenfield focuses on managing commodity risks and strives to maintain an environment of continuous operational improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness as a low-cost producer.

We are looking for a talented hands-on IT Systems Analyst. The successful candidate has the experience and capability to drive interactions between the Business and our IT operations group by drawing on technical expertise to tease out technology requirements for business led initiatives containing IT related components and presenting them to the operations group for analysis and execution.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Works with business analysts and project owners to elicit, analyze, and document business technical system requirements
  • Liaises with IT project teams to communicate and translate business requirements into technical requirements and identify appropriate solutions
  • Facilitates regular requirement gathering and design sessions with user community and communicates expectations to the operations team
  • Negotiates innovative technical solutions that satisfy customer needs, are consistent with architectural guidelines, and conform to security standards
  • Works with multiple stakeholders to assess the impact of proposed solutions, facilitate deployments and minimize disruption to services
  • Documents technical requirements and post execution support requirements
  • Participates in system and user acceptance testing efforts
  • Builds technical standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for business analysts
  • Provides input to business analysts to evaluate cost-benefit and ROI analyses
  • Understands system interdependencies and collaborates with project teams accordingly.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to understand business functionality and translate it into technical requirements
  • Excellent understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
  • Demonstrated experience writing software requirement specifications and test specifications
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
  • Ability to partner with multiple stakeholders and influence project decisions
  • Strong understanding of basic system engineering, object-oriented design, information risk and security guidelines, and architecture standards
  • Outstanding 360 collaboration, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Engage functional Peer Groups to understand business requirements and transform them into technical solutions
  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
