Greenfield is looking for a Maintenance Planner / Scheduler to join our growing team.

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of daily maintenance based on a 5-week work plan. This role will lead the coordination, planning, and scheduling of shutdown activities at the Chatham plant. The Maintenance Planner/Schedule will take ownership of the CMMS (Maximo) from a maintenance perspective and the preventative maintenance (PM) program.

Your Experience Should Include:
  • Completion of a post-secondary technical diploma
  • Three years of experience in maintenance planning role is desired
  • Experience with CMMS such as Maximo system would be an asset
  • Competent person who is knowledgeable of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations
  • Resourceful and practical, with demonstrated problem solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills paired with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Focused individual who maintains safety standards while working to achieve department objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all Company health and safety, environmental, and quality policies and regulatory requirements
  • Based on a 5-week work plan, develop detailed job plans for all maintenance activities including:
    • Develop and ensure all job plans have a completed in-field assessment to determine scope of work, labour, trades, materials, and parts, required contractors, and a review of safety hazards
    • Include drawings, cost estimates and resources in completed job plans for sufficient information
    • Collaborate with maintenance team for input on the 5-week plan, plant outages and PM
    • In collaboration with the Purchaser & Inventory Clerk, ensure all necessary parts are available onsite.  In conjunction ensure parts are tied back to the work order for ease of tracking along with stores management
    • Lead the weekly scheduling meeting with all internal stakeholders to communicate and prioritize the weekly equipment needs, work priorities, labour availability and update the schedule based upon work progression
    • Ensure all maintenance work carried out has been properly recorded in CMMS (Maximo)
    • Responsible for the post-job audit of completed work in CMMS and update job plans as required.  Monitor and evaluate the maintenance KPI’s weekly with the internal stakeholders with the intent to continuously improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling activities. Review trends in break-ins and work with the internal stakeholders to determine root cause
    • Continually review the maintenance backlog and hold weekly meetings with department leads to assess scope and prioritize accordingly
  • Responsible for the coordination, planning and scheduling of the shutdowns at the Chatham plant including:
    • Develop and ensure all job plans have a completed in-field assessment to determine scope of work, labour, trades, materials, and parts, contractors, and safety hazards. Include drawings, cost estimates and resources in job plans
    • With the Purchaser & Inventory Clerk, ensure all necessary parts are available onsite and tie parts back to the work order for ease of tracking along with stores management
    • Lead weekly shutdown meeting with all internal stakeholders to communicate and prioritize equipment needs, work priorities, labour availability and update the site-wide Gantt chart schedule. Perform a risk assessment to identify the risk to the plant if work is not completed
    • Secure contractors and participate in site walks with contractors along with the internal stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain the preventative maintenance (PM) program, with internal stakeholder to include:
    • Develop and ensure all job plans have a completed in-field assessment. Include drawings, cost estimates and resources in job plans
    • With the Purchaser & Inventory Clerk, ensure all necessary parts are available onsite and tie parts back to the work order for ease of tracking along with stores management
    • Review completed PM’s and make changes as required to keep up-to-date records
    • Ensure all follow-up work orders are generated after the PM has been completed
    • In collaboration with maintenance and reliability teams, develop predictive maintenance (PDM) schedule and routines and update CMMS as required
    • Maintain up-to-date equipment records and calibrations
  • Contribute to team efforts in the improvement of standard maintenance procedures and efficient flow of the work order system
  • Provide coverage for the Purchaser & Inventory Clerk during their absence
  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and advocating 6S opportunities
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Root Cause Analysis, HAZOP, and design review
  • Other duties and responsibilities aligned to business objectives and in support of our core principles.
