Production Floor Supervisor

Position Overview

Responsible for all production floor activities, supervision of the production staff and efficient utilization of equipment and resources. Provide training, cross-training, employee certification, and guidance. This position is accountable for the daily execution of the production plan accordingly with the ISO standards, quality and GMP requirements and product specifications. Ensures safety, quality and good housekeeping. Support and work collaboratively with customer service, planning, maintenance, shipping, documentation services, QA and the QC lab to reach departmental objectives and the company strategies. Implement and promote continuous improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervision of daily floor/venue activities, operator performance, process flow and pace, safety, best manufacturing practices and execution of production schedule for on time delivery
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager on improving the productivity and efficiency of daily operations (equipment and operators)
  • Knowledge and capability to perform all Production and Chemical Operator requirements, be ready to support all production roles as needed
  • Responsible for quality management training (new documents/new revisions/re-training and cross-training opportunities) and execution of training plans for the production staff
  • Responsible for the quality of products in line with the company quality management system, procedures and processes
  • Responsible for the accuracy of controlled documentation, batch records, meters, forms, reporting and training / employee certification
  • Responsible for the execution of all performance verification processes, cleaning procedures, heel and flush logs, and all equipment (non-dedicated) logs
  • Support all business partners/areas with information related to the status of customer orders, consumable materials, quality issues and employee safety concerns
  • Manage, motivate, develop, discipline and counsel production staff
  • Monitor, measure and report on departmental KPIs and overall performance for production related equipment, activities and operators
  • Ensure that robust and timely communication is given both verbally and written
  • Responsible for ensuring all maintenance (preventive and corrective maintenance/repairs) are done timely and accurately by maintenance and or approved vendors for the production floor
  • Ensure production supplies are monitored and maintained to avoid any impact to meeting customer demands or quality requirements
  • Manage time and tasks throughout the day and communicate to upper Management any issues related to staff and materials (raw and finished)
  • Cross Train in other departmental areas (Shipping/Bulk) as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring that all health and safety rules and regulations are adhered to
  • Assist in trouble shooting, root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions on all issue related to quality and safety
  • Support the production staff as a primary signatory for verification and approval for bath records to ensure flow and focus from venues
  • Participate in Lean or process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, organized and safe workplace
  • Responsible for monitoring production staff’s overall timekeeping and attendance (overtime/timely reporting/planned vs unplanned).
Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous Supervisory or Lead experience
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with multiple departments
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Proven attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Preferred & Relevant Experience:
    • GMP, ISO, Lean experience
    • General Microsoft Office (Outlook/Excel/Word) experience
    • Forklift experience and prior certification is a plus
    • Chemical Industry experience (DOT)
    • Filling Process and Equipment experience.
