Greenfield is looking for a Shipping & Receiving Manager to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position establishes department objectives in the areas of Safety, Environmental, Product Quality and Consistency, Customer Service, and Efficiency and develops strategies for effective implementation and continuous improvement. The Shipping and Receiving Manager has full ownership, responsibility, and accountability for all activities within the Shipping & Receiving group. This includes the safe and efficient corn receiving process, and shipping of Industrial alcohol, fuel ethanol, DDG, and WDG. The Shipping and Receiving Manager leads and directs the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator, Co-Products Coordinator, and Shipping and Receiving Operators both Grain and Alcohol to achieve department objectives consistent with plant and corporate requirements.

Your Experience Should Include:
  • Completion of post-secondary education in a technical field
  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a continuous process facility. Experience with alcohol production background is an asset
  • Proven experience in establishing a vision and setting objectives, and change management
  • Experience with performance management, developing people and achieving results through others
  • Good knowledge of EH&S regulatory requirements
Job Responsibilities:
  • Implement, oversee, and comply with all Company health and safety, environmental, and quality policies and regulatory requirements
  • Establish, prioritize, and lead implementation strategies to achieve department and plant objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on optimizing throughput, quality, efficiency, and customer requirements.
  • Stay current on industry performance standards and best practices, and ensure that the department meets or exceeds benchmark standards
  • Determine future needs and priorities, and establish the technical direction for the process and department
  • Collaborate, evaluate, and prioritize plant objectives, and participate in the development and implementation of business action plans as a member of the Chatham leadership team
  • With respect to direct reports, the Shipping and Receiving Manger is expected to:
    • Establish objectives, priorities, and support team activities
    • Communicate regularly with all employees regarding operating requirements, procedural changes, and customer requirements
    • Foster a team-based culture
    • Regulate vacation policy and ensure team skills are well balanced
    • Coordinate training for the group
    • Conduct regular safety and communication meetings
    • Provide growth opportunities for all reports
    • Administer performance evaluations
  • Responsible for annual department budget, monthly cost reports, and all relevant general ledger accounts
  • Work closely with the QA Manager to ensure excellence in product quality
  • Work closely with Logistics to satisfy customer requirements and manage product inventories
  • Work closely with Corporate Demand Logistics to optimize scheduling of shipments
  • Takes a lead role in and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Program standards and legislation
  • Takes a lead role in and ensure plant compliance in GMPs, FSMA, FEMAS, and other food and feed safety
  • Other duties and responsibilities aligned to business objectives and in support of our core principles.
