Delta Management Group and the Clean50 organization announced today Canada’s prestigious Clean50 Awards, which recognize 50 individuals who have done the most to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada over the past two years. Greenfield is thrilled to share that, in addition to being chosen as part of the 2021 Clean50 cohort, Howard Field, President & CEO, has been named a 2021 Clean16 Honouree.

“The 2021 Clean16 are truly the leaders of the leaders in sustainability in Canada. The competition for the top spot this year in every instance left us with a record number of great choices – and to be selected from amongst such a strong group of peers is truly a testament to the contribution Howard Field has made to help make Canada more sustainable for all Canadians,” said Gavin Pitchford, CEO of Delta Management Group.

“I am honoured to receive the Clean16 award, and I share this recognition with the entire Greenfield team whose world-class knowledge and exceptional engagement impress me every day, especially during these unprecedented times. Greenfield strives to make a difference and contributes to solving some of the most urgent environmental challenges our planet is facing”, said Howard Field. “I wish to extend my thanks to our customers, suppliers, partners and investors who support us as we continue to establish our leadership in sustainability in Canada and abroad”.

Greenfield drives the advancement of sustainable biofuel innovations motivated by its vision of doing its part to help the planet achieve less than 350 ppm (parts-per-million) of CO2 in the atmosphere. The company realized never-seen-before results of displacing 15% of the natural gas used at its Varennes, Quebec plant, 215 million litre per year biorefinery, with biogas from the SEMECS anaerobic digestion plant, taking 40,000 tonnes of organic waste sourced from 27 local municipalities and diverted from landfills, to make some of the lowest carbon-intensity fuel ethanol in North America.

“Greenfield will continue to look for new ways to lower our carbon footprint to improve the health of our planet and people that live on it for generations to come,” says Howard Field. “A mission that drives our leadership, employees, customers and stakeholders.”
