Greenfield is looking for a Greenfield is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our growing team.  Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Laboratory Technician (Lab Technician) ensures that the alcohol products are monitored regularly and corrective action is taken to ensure that the alcohol products are manufactured according to the specifications and in an efficient, safe and environmentally responsible manner. This position is a shift position rotating between days, afternoons and nights. to join our growing team.

Who You Are:
  • Have completed a related technical post-secondary diploma/degree. 
  • Experience in a continuous operation facility is an asset. 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Obtains samples of incoming materials, process streams and effluents for quality testing, process control and product development. 
  • Performs USP testing on a scheduled basis.
  • Operates and maintains laboratory equipment utilized in quality testing, process control and product development.
  • Performs a wide range of lab tests to determine if products conform to applicable requirements and specifications.
  • Rejects incoming material or alcohol ready for shipment if non-conformity with the specification is identified.
  • Inputs test results into the computer system.
  • Prepares reports, including graphs and charts of test results.
  • Performs shipping calculations and completes alcohol shipment documentation. 
  • Performs calculations and maintains records as required to conform to Revenue Canada – Excise Branch and plant requirements regarding the quantity of alcohol produced, shipped and stored. 
  • Calibrates laboratory equipment under the supervision of the QA Manager. 
  • Cleans laboratory equipment as required. 
  • Assists with the reconciliation of the alcohols shipping paperwork and maintaining records. 
  • Reports deviations, non-conformances, corrective actions and preventive actions. 
  • Adheres to and participates in the Company’s Quality, Environmental, Food Safety, Health & Safety and ISO systems.
