Position Overview

This position is responsible for project management of capital construction projects under $2M from business case to handover and closeout. This role includes support to capital projects greater than $2M on an as needed basis (i.e. construction & procurement coordination). The Project Manager acts to mitigate unforeseen events and deliver the projects on time within budget and scope.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Comply with all Company health and safety, environmental, and quality policies and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties for execution of projects for on-time delivery, within scope
  • Prepare, manage and document project change orders
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, assemble Appropriation Request package, tender packages and construction contracts
  • Manage all aspects of projects from approved MOC scope thru to completion, including PSSR requirements
  • Responsible to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Prepare project spend details and construction updates for monthly CAPEX project report
  • Participate, update, discuss and revise the continuously improving Chatham Engineering standards
  • Create Project Turnover packages that capture all equipment to be entered into Maximo, includes all equipment drawings, redlined P&IDs and Operations and Maintenance manuals.
  • Work with Maintenance team to establish initial equipment PM’s
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including RCA, HAZOP, and 5S events
  • Other duties and responsibilities aligned to business objectives and in support of our core principles.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical degree or diploma is required
  • Possess Project Management certification (PMP) or P.Eng designation, or progressing towards licensing
  • Preferred 5 to 10 years of experience with multi-discipline project management in Industrial setting
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal as well as strong organizational skills.
