Greenfield is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join our growing team.

The Senior Cost Accountant will report directly to the SC&I Controller and will be part of the team responsible for month-end close, accurate inventory costing, account reconciliations and analysis.

Who You Are:

Your Experience Should Include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA preferred)
  • 3 or more years of related general accounting experience in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with costing methodologies
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 is an asset
  • Possesses a strong systems background and excellent analytical skills
  • Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and with competing priorities
Job Responsibilities:
  • Apply fundamental accounting theories and concepts to support the cost accounting function
  • Collect, update, and analyze all relevant costing data to develop and maintain standard costs for materials and labor
  • Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, labor, and finished goods
  • Ownership for item set-up and update costs to drive accuracy of the bill of materials
  • Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost and margins
  • Calculate actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and investigate variances
  • Analyze labor absorption and correct variances to ensure cost accuracy
  • Review of the integrity and reasonableness of the cost accounting systems on a periodic basis
  • Coordinate periodic physical inventory counts
  • Managing month-end financial close process for inventory and related items, and liaising with finance team on the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations
  • Lead or assist in ad hoc projects as needed
